My Army Wife

My Army Wife has:

tolerated the Army being first.

tolerated the kids being second.

tolerated her being last.

tolerated bad neighbors with bad gossip.

tolerated my anger, frustration and venom.

tolerated being the stay at home mom.

tolerated my extensive travels.

tolerated me going to war.

tolerated invasive family and friends.

tolerated harassment.

tolerated financial problems.

tolerated raising kids alone.

tolerated her ex husband and my ex wife.

tolerated doing the bills.

tolerated bad employees.

tolerated family deaths.

tolerated sick children.

tolerated lost dreams.

tolerated me letting her down.

tolerated being an Army Wife.

To her I bring the 79th Verse of the Tao:

After a bitter quarrel, some resentment remains.  What can one do about it? Being content withwhat you have is always best in the end.  Someone must risk returning injury with kindness, or hostility will never turn to goodwill.  So the wsie always give without expecting gratitude.

One true virtue always seeks a way to give.  One who lacks true virtue always seeks a way to get.  To the giver comes the fullness of life;  to the taker, just an empty hand.

My Army Wife represents all of the 79th verse of the Tao.  She gives yet never receives, she quarrels but comes back with an open heart and an open mind.

I love my Army Wife more than life itself.

She is the quintessential Army Wife.
